Lectrum Lectern at The Australian Museum Function Centre
The Australian Museum was closed for 15 months undergoing a major transformation with improved, expanded and reimagined public and exhibition spaces. Reopening in late 2020 the massive $57.5 million renovation was delivered on time and on budget. The renovation included more than 3,000sqm of new public space repurposed from back-of-house areas, a new Museum Shop, a second café, a new Members Lounge, new education rooms, cloaking and amenities. Visitors to the Museum can take advantage of the free general admission offered now to enjoy the newly revamped public spaces.

Astounding specimens and dramatic dinosaurs bring this captivating space to life. Showcasing more than 10 life-sized dinosaur skeletons, the Dinosaurs gallery provides a unique setting for your cocktail reception.
Minerals
Impress your guests with cocktails among the dazzling display of 1800 rare sparkling gemstones, from the earth’s oldest rocks and minerals to specimens from outer space. Reflecting all the colours of spectrum, this gallery is sure to make an impact.
Hintze Hall
Positioned in the heart of the Museum, where old meets new, Hintze Hall is a stylish and spacious room featuring Australian Blackbutt flooring and sandstone walls of the original Museum galleries dating back to 1827. Suitable for cocktail events and banquet dinners.
Harbour View Room
With views north to St Mary’s Cathedral and east to the famous Kings Cross Coke sign, the Harbour View Room is a striking location for a daytime or evening function. A large balcony with floor to ceiling windows wraps around two sides of the venue filling the room with natural light and offering a unique view of Sydney Harbour and the city skyline.

No. 1 William is a modern space that offers breathtaking views of St Mary’s Cathedral, Sydney Harbour to Garden Island, Hyde Park and the city skyline. A balcony runs the full length of the room, with floor-to-ceiling windows providing panoramic views.
